Draw two cards from the stock (discard only one at the end) — or take the whole discard pile if you can immediately meld its top card.
Meld sets of 3+ cards of one rank. At least 2 natural cards; at most 3 wilds (2s and jokers).
Discard one card to end your turn.
The pile
Take it with a natural pair matching the top card, or (once unfrozen and you've melded) by matching one of your melds. The whole pile goes straight into your hand — no meld required.
A discarded wild freezes the pile: then only a natural pair unlocks it.
A black 3 on top blocks the pile for one turn.
Special cards
Red 3s are bonus cards — laid aside automatically, 100 each (800 for all four). They count against you if you never meld.
Black 3s can only be melded when going out.
Canastas & going out
A meld of 7+ is a canasta: 300 points, or 500 if all natural.
You need two canastas to go out (+100 bonus).
In partnership games, melds, canastas and scores are shared with your partner — and their leftover cards count against your team when the hand ends.
